Pens Appreciation Post

6 Apr

I love end of the year fan appreciation stuff like a love I good montage at the Oscars.  It was Penguins “Shirts Off Our Backs” night last night.  Down Dawn, they were wearing shirts underneath.

Kris took his skates off, but still tucked his jersey into the back of his pants.  Just to make sure Dawn*really* wanted it.  There’s so much amazing going on here I can’t stand it.

Deryk Engelland – It takes a lot of man to rock a baby pink tie.  You are that man.

Ben Lovejoy – More excited than the winner.  I will name a puppy after you.

Paul Martin – Thinking what we’re thinking: My jersey’s not going to fit that guy.

Mark Letestu – He really is Frodo.  His eyes light up like he just found his Precious.

James Neal – I love your hair!  Nealmobile feels pride.

Mike Comrie – Looking sharp in one of Hilary’s suits.

Max Talbot – Of course he gets a girl.

Wrote his number on his number.

Eric Tangradi – Would make a good Gale in The Hunger Games movie.

Flower – I am dead.  That kid could fit in one arm of your sweater.

Tanger – Awkward jog. Awkward wave. Amazing hair.

Geno!!  What does the H on your belt buckle mean?  PS: You’re walking fine.  You should play.

SIDNEY CROSBY!!! Don’t be shy Captain, you can smile.  Are those your initials embroidered on the cuff of your sleeve?  Have you been taking up needlepoint in your downtime?  Well stop and come back right now because seeing you on the ice makes me feel like I’ve had Pop Rocks and soda.

Captain Comeback

I love this team so much and I am so excited for the playoffs.  All that gut-wrenching, nail-biting craziness it totally worth it.

Curious if you ladies been following this whole William. the make a wish, Caps kid and the adorable-ness that happened at the Caps “shirts off their backs” with Sasha Minor/Fierce hoisting him up for a picture opportunity. Priceless and adorable all in one. Check out Russian Machine Never Breaks for all of the feel-good-ness you could EVER want…

PLUS, MG52 hooking the kid and a fierce GMGM smiling like a proud poppa.

Chelski! I have and it is adorable overload. It will get its own post someday… first I have to eat some lunch!

Nealmobile :). Love it. I have a buddy who desperately wanted Baby Jordy’s soooo bad (but would have settled for Engo’s).

OK – you didn’t mention the mean girls group staring lazerbeams of hate at the woman who got MAX TALBOT’s jersey! HAHAHAHAH! seriously! WOW! And really? some of the guys should have manned up and went higher up in the stands to give out shirts than girly tosses to people who have money for $200+ seats. The real fans are the ones up in the nose bleeds and would DIE for those shirts. how much would that make their LIVES if even one of the players took their skates off and did that? Just sayin’

Did you notice him going for the hug and kiss on the cheek? Any opportunity to charm – MAX TALBOT is smooooooth!

But would said player survive? Jordan Staal taken down like King Kong by a whole section of fangirls? I’d pay to see that.

I’d fear for his manhood but something tells me Baby Jordy would probably like that sort of thing 😉

    Multiple things to say:

    1. I completely agree with Dawn. I’m usually that poor college kid in the nosebleeds, screaming like a maniac and cussing out those texting in the second row. However, you’re right. If Jordan Staal came up to the nosebleeds to give me a shirt, I would tackle him.

    2. Ben Lovejoy’s face of complete excitement killed me. His smile is contagious.

    3. Geno’s H belt is a Hermes belt. Haha…

    4. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. My eyes were watering while watching this. If I had been chosen to receive his jersey, I would have whispered “I miss you” in his ear…and he probably would have notified security. Rightfully so.

    5. How much better would this be if they DIDN’T have shirts on underneath? I would have to be scraped from the floor following the game.

I don’t think any mugging would happen. Did you see how afraid most of those fans were who received the jerseys? I think the fans would be respectful if they went up in the stands. We are also talking hockey players here. I think Matt Cooke can take care of himself! HA and MAX TALBOT would just kiss them to death or die trying! Besides, it is ‘fan appreciation’ and really, the ones way up there rarely ever get any props. It would be like Oprah’s FAVORITE THINGS episode!

If I had a talk show, I’d be like Oprah’s Favorite Things. Free hockey players for everyone!

YOU get a Talbot! and YOU get a Staal! and YOU get a Letang! and YOU get a Crosby.

*que hysterical screaming and jumping up and down*

        *pass out*

I would be front and center.
